My kind of book signing!

This past Sunday, Tom and I went to the Cake Wrecks book signing, and it was brilliant.

The Cake Wrecks blog, by the way, is the funniest thing on the entire Internet, and if for some reason you've never checked it out, you've just got to! My coworkers can always tell when I'm reading the daily posting, because I'm either under my desk laughing, or sputtering things like, "Get ... OUT!"

The authors gave a hilarious slide show presentation. The event was held at a Barnes & Noble, so I can only imagine what other people elsewhere in the store were thinking when this huge crowd of us kept roaring with laughter. It was a complete gut buster. Tom nearly fell out of his chair.

So, this being a book signing about a cake book, obviously there had to be ... CAKE!

Hey, this was as close as the crowd let me get to this cake!

Professional cake makers donated very fun cakes to the event.

There's a contest to see who can replicate the funniest of the "wrecks" in miniature form. Apparently our event generated the most entries. The authors were very impressed!

There were a lot of really good ones, too!

If you follow the blog, you'll appreciate these beauts.

Believe me, the event would NOT have been complete without this fellow.

There was a huge line for the actual signing, but it was worth it. The book is hilarious.

And I got to say hi to Jen and John!

We're still giggling about the whole thing and it was two days ago!

Very good times.
