I love it because it has so many kinds of habitats in a small peninsula -- salt marshes, woods, green meadows, and coast. All kinds of birds everywhere. Plus since you're surrounded by the harbor, you get a great breeze.
We walk the length of the peninsula and head toward the rocky beach at the end.

The beach is my favorite part, really.
Tom likes the shade.

But I like to wade.
This is me cooling off my legs in the water.
This is me after spotting a crab right next to my feet.
Pretty, isn't he?
Given how warm it was, I really wanted to soak my back. Tom couldn't believe I would do such a thing, but come on -- doesn't this look fun?
I tried to persuade Tom to try it, but he wasn't remotely tempted. He preferred dryer activities.
We both enjoyed ourselves in our own ways (though my backside was a lot cooler than his for the walk back!).
I haven't been to World's End for at least a decade, but I do remember it being a very nice place to spend a summer afternoon. Glad you stayed cool!
