I've been walking home from work, on average three days per week, for about the last three weeks -- ever since we've had that many days a week that weren't torrential rain.
It's only about three miles, so it's a nice way to unwind and get some air. The walk is a straight shot down the same street that the bus takes, so it's busy and there's a lot to look at.
For some of the evenings last week, I knew Tom had to drive past me to get to the theater to rehearse, so I always watched for his car so we could wave to each other. That was nice.
Also, when I was walking home one day last week, one woman (who was waiting at a bus stop) said to me, "I could have sworn I saw you walking yesterday, only one town over!" That was me, all right. Another time, I walked by some people standing at a bus stop, and then after awhile a bus passed me, and I saw one of the people who'd been at the stop look at me, laugh, and wave. Funny.
The walk takes me just under 45 minutes, but closer to 40 if I am more determined.
